What your training programme decides

Requirements vary between specialties and training programmes. Trainees should check with their educational or clinical supervisor and follow the requirements of their portfolio and ARCP panel. Lazomis QI is a platform for doing and documenting the work; it is not endorsed, approved or accredited by the NHS, any Royal College, regulator, deanery or foundation school, and using it does not guarantee that a piece of work will be accepted.

From project to evidence, in four steps

  1. Step 1

    Choose a project you can realistically complete

    Pick a ready-built project matched to your specialty and setting, or build one around your own topic. The criteria, standards and data fields are already in place, so the project starts with a defensible structure.

  2. Step 2

    Collect anonymised data in a structured form

    Each record is entered against the project's criteria. Compliance, denominators and exclusions are calculated by fixed rules rather than by hand, which is what makes the results reproducible later.

  3. Step 3

    Review the analysis and record what you changed

    Interpret the dashboard, agree improvement actions with owners and target dates, and record the learning. Improvement work, not data collection alone, is what a reviewer usually asks to see.

  4. Step 4

    Generate and review your evidence

    Produce the report, presentation and evidence summary from the project data, then read them before use. You remain responsible for the content you submit.
